Introduction:

Welcome! My name is Abby Rhoads. I am a Wayfinder Life Coach. Here is a little background about myself and my approach to life, and Life Coaching!

I am educated as a high school English teacher, and have taught in schools for many years. I have also been a yoga and mindfulness instructor with over 500 hours of training. My personal yoga and meditation practices are foundational to my life. In all of my time as a teacher, what guides me is my commitment to curiosity, a capacity for deep listening, and a deep mind-body-spirit connection.  As a Life Coach, I use many of the same tools as I do in the various classrooms in which I teach: an open mind, a passion for inquiry, and a deep belief that, given the space, we are each our own best teacher.

A little about my journey:

After raising my two children as a single mother and an almost 20 year career as a high school English teacher and English Department Head at an International Baccalaureate school in Massachusetts, I decided to take a “leap of faith” to leave my job, the place I raised my children and an established community to move with my partner to Mid-coast Maine. I bought a small homestead where my two rescued donkeys have plenty of space to graze and explore. I started a garden and digging roots - literally and metaphorically. In my first year in Maine, I studied and got certified as a Martha Beck Wayfinder Life Coach. I choose Wayfinding because the focus and philosophy closely aligns with my personal experience of learning to live from the heart. I have done a lot of self work, including therapy, meditation and self study through various different yogic traditions. My strength as a Life Coach comes from my life experiences of going through a divorce, raising children as a single parent, navigating life as a working parent, doing the work to cultivate true self love and attracting my ideal life partner.
